RYA Day Skipper Practical Course - Over 2 Weekends

This hands-on course is ideal for aspiring skippers with previous yachting experience and a sound understanding of sailing theory and navigation. Over five days, you'll develop the confidence and competence to take full responsibility for a sailing yacht on short coastal passages, under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
Designed to bridge the gap between crew member and skipper, this course allows you to experience real-life decision making, develop leadership on board, and refine your boat handling skills in varied conditions — both under sail and power.
Course Prerequisites To enrol in the RYA Day Skipper Practical course, you must have:
- Minimum 5 days at sea, 100 logged miles, and 4 night hours
- Completed the RYA Competent Crew certificate
- Completed the RYA Day Skipper Theory course
Please note: Proof of prerequisites must be provided via logbook. Participation will not be permitted without fulfilling these requirements.
