Master the art of sailing with our Advanced Sailing Course, designed for experienced young sailors ready to take on greater challenges and responsibilities on the water.
This course is ideal for students who have completed both beginner and intermediate levels and are looking to refine their technical skills, improve performance, and develop leadership on the water. It blends practical, theory-based learning with real-world sailing scenarios to build confidence and competence at an advanced level.
Course Overview
- Designed for students with solid sailing experience and confidence on the water
- Focuses on advanced boat handling in various wind and sea conditions
- Covers sail tuning for performance, racing techniques, and tactical decision-making
- Introduces use of racing rules, race starts, and mark rounding strategies
- Strengthens knowledge of navigation, wind shifts, and weather interpretation
- Encourages independent sailing, peer mentoring, and leadership development
- Prepares students for formal sailing certifications or participation in regattas
Outcome after term: A deeper understanding of advanced sailing techniques, boat handling, and performance sailing

- This is a fixed weekly term; all sessions must be attended. Make-up sessions are not available, regardless of the reason for absence. Please refer to our T&Cs for details.
- Cancellations or postponements of the entire course must be submitted in writing to DOSC at least 60 hours before the course start date.
