This course is a Stage 1 and Stage 2 combined course. This is the first step to sailing for young children. They will discover a basic understanding of how a boat sails, and will cover launching and recovery, steering, handling and parts of the boat. They will learn to sail upwind, control their speed, learn parts of the sail, rope work and basic rules of the road.

Course Prerequisites: None

Minimum Duration: 4 days

Minimum Age: 6

Ability after course: Able to steer and understand basic principles and should be able to tack and control boat speed, as well as understand the principals of sailing.
