RYA Adult Level 1 - Start Sailing Course

Discover the thrill of sailing with our Adult Dinghy Level 1 course—perfect for complete beginners looking to get started on the water. Over two full days, you'll gain hands-on experience and build confidence as you learn the fundamental skills of dinghy sailing in a safe and supportive environment.

Course Overview:

This RYA-approved course introduces the essentials of sailing a small dinghy, including boat handling, rigging, launching and recovery, and basic sailing theory. Instruction is provided by experienced, qualified instructors in a small-group setting.

What Youll Learn:

Basic steering and sail control
Launching and recovery techniques
Wind awareness and basic sailing theory
Tacking and gybing
Safety procedures and rules of the water

Course Details:

Duration: 2 Days
Timing: 10:00 AM 5:30 PM
Minimum Age: 14 years
Prerequisite: Must be water confident (no prior sailing experience required)
Instructor to Student Ratio: 1:6
Outcome: Sail a dinghy in light winds under supervision
