Discover the thrill of sailing with our Adult Dinghy Level 1 course perfect for complete beginners looking to get started on the water. Over two full days, you'll gain hands-on experience and build confidence as you learn the fundamental skills of dinghy sailing in a safe and supportive environment.
Course Overview:
This RYA-approved course introduces the essentials of sailing a small dinghy, including boat handling, rigging, launching and recovery, and basic sailing theory. Instruction is provided by experienced, qualified instructors in a small-group setting.
What Youll Learn:
- Basic steering and sail control
- Launching and recovery techniques
- Wind awareness and basic sailing theory
- Tacking and gybing
- Safety procedures and rules of the water
Course Details:
- Duration: 2 Days
- Timing: 10:00 AM 5:30 PM
- Minimum Age: 14 years
- Prerequisite: Must be water confident (no prior sailing experience required)
- Instructor to Student Ratio: 1:6
- Outcome: Sail a dinghy in light winds under supervision
