RYA Adult Level 3 - Better Sailing Course

The RYA Level 3 course—Better Sailing—is designed to bridge the gap between basic training and more advanced sailing. It offers the opportunity to refine techniques, boost confidence, and prepare sailors for more specialised courses or independent sailing.

Course Overview:

This course builds on the skills gained in Level 2, focusing on greater boat control, smoother manoeuvres, and improved decision-making on the water. Its ideal for sailors looking to consolidate their learning and become more self-reliant.

• Enhanced rigging and sail setting for performance
• Advanced tacking and gybing techniques
• Improved boat handling in varying conditions
• Sailing efficiently around a course
• Introduction to basic racing and seamanship skills
• Techniques for sailing solo or with a crew

Course Details:

• Duration: 2 Days
• Timing: 10:00 AM 5:30 PM
• Minimum Age: 14 years
• Prerequisite: RYA Dinghy Level 2
• Instructor to Student Ratio: 1:6
• Outcome: Confident, independent dinghy sailing in moderate conditions
