An introductory course to sailing a yacht for complete beginners.

By the end of this 2 day residential course you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, rope work and be aware of safety on board. Holders of the Start Yachting certificate can go on to complete the 3 day Competent Crew course in order to obtain the full competent crew certificate. All our cruising courses take place on either of our 3 club's Boat 

Course Pre-requisites: None (perfect for beginners)

Duration: 2 days

Timings: 9am till 5pm on both days

An example itinerary for your is shown below, (marina location may change due to weather forecasts).

Day 1 Meet at DOSC at 0845. Prep the boat and sail to Jebel Ali sail back to DOSC.

Day 2 Meet at DOSC at 0845. Prep the boat and sail to World Islands sail back to DOSC. Course debrief and certification.

Maximum Students: 5

Recommended Minimum Age: 12 (For any minor please contact sailingadmin@doscuae.com before booking)

Course Content: General orientation of the yacht, rope work, underway, rules of the road, man overboard recovery, clothing and equipment, emergency equipment and precautions, meteorology.

Cost includes: all materials required for course, light lunch, soft drinks, water etc

Please take note: prices for courses on weekends are different than courses on weekdays.
