Weekly RYA Children's Courses » RYA Weekly Stage 3 / Optimist Improver

The RYA stage 3 course is the final youth course before children are able to sail by themselves. Here they will learn about rigging, launching and sailing in any direction.

Course Prerequisites: RYA Stage 2 Certificate - Those that are not able to produce this certificate will not be allowed to join on to the course

Timings: 4.00pm till 6.00pm 

Schedule Dates: 

• Every Tuesday 9th Jan, 16th Jan, 23rd Jan, 30th Jan, 6th Feb, 20th Feb, 27th Feb, 5th Mar, 12th Mar, 19th Mar (10 weeks)

Minimum Age: 9-11

Ability after course: On successful completion, children should be able to launch and sail a dinghy around a triangle in moderate conditions.

If you are not able to make 1 of the sessions, the session is lost and there is no make up session.

Please note that there is no session on the week of 12th - 16th February due to the SB20 World Championship

Once booked, cancellation or postponement of the course has to be informed to DOSC more than 48 hours prior to the course date booked.

*All boats need to be off the water at sunset
