RYA Weekly Stage 3 » Wednesday - Stage 3

The RYA stage 3 course is the final youth course before children are able to sail by themselves. Here they will learn about rigging, launching and sailing in any direction.

This course will take place as 11 × 2hr weekly sessions in optimists. Please note the term start at finish dates at the time of booking.

Course Prerequisites: RYA Youth Stage 2 certificate - Those that are not able to produce this certificate will not be allowed to join on to the course

Timings: 4.00pm till 6.00pm Every Wednesday

Minimum Age: 9 - 11

Term Dates: 13th Sep, 20th Sep, 27th Sep, 4th Oct, 11th Oct, 25th Oct, 1st Nov, 8th Nov, 15th Nov, 22nd Nov, 6th Dec (11 Weeks)

Ability after course: On successful completion, children should be able to launch and sail a dinghy around a triangle in moderate conditions.

Please Note:

*There is NO afterschool classes during half term break - 16th - 20th October 2023 & National Day Week 27th Nov to 1st Dec 2023

*All boats need to be off the water at sunset
