RYA Safety Boat Course
The RYA Safety Boat Course is an intensive two-day program designed to prepare participants to operate a powerboat safely and effectively in a safety or rescue role. This course is ideal for those supporting dinghy sailing, training sessions, racing, or watersports activities, and focuses on rescue techniques, risk management, and decision-making on the water
What Youll Learn:
Roles and responsibilities of a safety boat driver
Preparation and equipment for safety boat operations
Advanced boat handling for rescue situations
Dinghy and windsurfer rescue techniques
Man overboard recovery in confined and open waters
Towing methods and techniques
Managing multiple incidents and prioritisation
Risk assessment and accident prevention
Communication and teamwork on the water
Awareness of weather, tides, and operational limitations
Course Details:
Duration: 2 Days
Timings: 10:00 AM 5:30 PM
Minimum Age: 16 years
Prerequisite: RYA Powerboat Level 2
Outcome: Confident and competent safety boat driver capable of supporting training, racing, and on-water activities in a variety of conditions

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations or postponements of the entire course must be submitted in writing to DOSC at least 60 hours before the course start date.
