Designed for Young Sailors Ready to Take the Next Step
This programme is tailored for young, competitive sailors. This initiative combines fundamental sailing skills with early exposure to competition, setting the stage for a successful and rewarding racing journey.
Programme Focus: The training is centred around time on the water in an Optimist dinghy, designed to accelerate development and build a solid foundation for future inclusion in the DOSC Race Academy.
Programme Objectives:
- Establish a consistent pipeline of cadet sailors
- Build a clear bridge between our Sailing School and the DOSC Race Academy
- Raise the standard of grassroots (green fleet) sailing
- Develop a world-class youth sailing team to proudly represent the UAE in international competitions
Pre-Requisites:
- Open to ages 68
- Participants must be confident swimmers
Training Schedule:
- Days: Wednesdays and Thursdays (12 weeks)
- Timing: 16:00 18:00
- Venue: DOSC
Term Dates:
Wednesday: 17th Sep, 24th Sep, 1st Oct, 8th Oct, 22nd Oct, 29th Oct, 5th Nov, 12th Nov, 19th Nov, 26th Nov, 3rd Dec, 10th Dec (12 Sessions) - No Session on the 15th October
Thursday: 18th Sep, 25th Sep, 2nd Oct, 9th Oct, 23rd Oct, 30th Oct, 6th Nov, 13th Nov, 20th Nov, 27th Nov, 4th Dec, 11th Dec (12 Sessions) - No Session on the 16th October
Important Notes:
- This is a fixed weekly term; all sessions must be attended. Make-up sessions are not available, regardless of the reason for absence. Please refer to our T&Cs for details.
- Cancellations or postponements of the entire course must be submitted in writing to DOSC at least 60 hours before the course start date.
