Our new weekend Learn to Sail courses run by term, with advanced group running on Saturday afternoons to utilize the sea breeze. A variety of the RYA Advanced modules will be taught, with the aim of developing the young sailors towards performance dinghies and the instructor pathway.

A wide range of boats will be used, such as RS Ventures, RS Fevas, and RS Cat 16s, depending on the days focus. The skills covered can vary between spinnakers, racing, catamaran sailing, rudderless sailing, and more; the instructor will tailor the course for the students towards their long term goals.

Course Prerequisites: RYA Stage 4

Duration: 3 hours, every Saturday of the term.

Timings: 14:00-17:00

Term Dates 1 : 9th Sep, 16th Sep, 23th Sep, 30th Sep, 7th Oct, 28th Oct (6 weeks)

Term Dates 2 : 4th Nov, 11th Nov, 18th Nov, 25th Nov, 2nd Dec, 9th Dec (6 weeks)

Minimum Age: 8

Ability after the course: Deeper understanding and practical ability to use more advanced equipment and skills

Once booked, cancellation or postponement of the course has to be informed to DOSC more than 48 hours prior to the course date booked. If a session is lost, no make up session is provided.
