Our Advanced Weekend Sailing Courses are tailored for young sailors who have completed RYA Stage 4 and are ready to progress into more technical and performance-focused sailing. Taking place on Saturday afternoons, students take full advantage of the sea breeze while honing advanced skills and exploring future pathways — from racing to instructing.
A variety of RYA Advanced Modules are covered, including:
- Spinnaker handling
- Racing techniques
- Rudderless sailing
- …and more!
Courses are customized by the instructor to align with students abilities and long-term goals, encouraging each sailors growth toward performance dinghies or the RYA instructor development track.
Course Details:
- Prerequisite: RYA Stage 4
- Duration: 3 hours per session
- Time: 2:00 PM 5:00 PM
- Term Dates: 6th Sep, 13th Sep, 20th Sep, 27th Sep, 4th Oct, 11th Oct (6 weeks)
- Minimum Age: 8 years
- Outcome: A deeper understanding of advanced sailing techniques, boat handling, and performance sailing
Important Notes:
- This is a fixed weekly course; all sessions must be attended. Make-up sessions are not available, regardless of the reason for absence. Please refer to our T&Cs for details.
- Students are only allowed to attend on the specific date they are booked for. For example, if booked for Saturday, attendance on Sunday is not permitted, and vice versa.
- Cancellations or postponements of the entire course must be submitted in writing to DOSC at least 60 hours before the course start date.
