Wing Foiling at DOSC » Wing Foiling Stage 1
Winging or Wing foiling is a hybrid, a mix, a coming together of new technologies and possibilities from its sibling sports or windsurfing, surf foiling and kiting.
Boards are changing dramatically and reducing in length and volume to an impressively small 'waterstartable' volume now varying between 150 litres to less than 40 in some extreme examples.
Foils are also changing all the time. Generally, they are a little bigger than kitesurf foils around 1500cm2 in surface area for the front wing.
Wing foiling is a great alternative for 'kids sailing' at DOSC. Not everyone fits the bill for sailing and some kids need an alternative.
Wing foiling would provide the first real step in to kite foil racing and direct access to the foiling community.
